Q: Are you open all year 'round for gear rentals and lessons?

We are happy to say, yes we are! From January 1st to December 31st, we are open for lessons, rentals, and retail sales. Keep up to date on our live shop hours and lesson availabilities online or give us a call at (250) 725-2155!

Q: Can I rent without previous surf experience?

We are happy to set you up with gear even if it is your first time surfing, however we highly recommend you first taking a lesson with one of our experienced and fun surf instructors! Getting the basics of surfing is super important for your safety and success in the sport! Book online or contact us today!

Q: Can I pick up gear for my friends?

We require that every renter sign one of our rental waivers. Thankfully, these can be done online! Contact us to get a link to our waiver and to ensure your gear rental will go smoothly.

Q: Will I need a hood, boots, or gloves?

Generally, October through May we surf with SOME sort of accessory. Our rental technicians will be happy to make the best recommendation of what you’ll need for your time in the water. All accessories are included in your wetsuit price.

Q: How old do I need to be to sign a waiver form?

Participants must be 19 or older to sign a waiver for themselves. If under 19, a guardian will have to sign for you. This can be done online ahead of time - just give us a call or email and we will send you the link!

Q: What sizes of boards do you have available for rent?

We rent everything between 5’6 and 10’0! We rent a range of epoxy and soft top boards, fit for wherever your surf level may be at. We also have a range of performance boards that a staff member will be happy to set you up with.

Q: Do you have rentals available at the beach?

We now have a second location open at Cox Bay Beach through Surf Grove Campground! Enjoy hot showers, and access to a range of boards, wetsuits and accessories right at the beach.*ONLY AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS STAYING AT SURF GROVE CAMPGROUND

Q: How do I transport my gear?

We provide you (free of charge!) with soft roof racks or straps for the top of your vehicle. Our rental technicians will be happy to help you get all set up and comfortable with the equipment.

Q: Do I need to reserve my rental gear?

You don't NEED to - but we now do offer online rental reservations! Simply navigate to the rentals main page and click 'RESERVE SURF RENTALS.'

* Day Prices are defined as 24 hours. E.g. 3 Days is a 72 Hr Rental

* Seasonally appropriate accessories are included in wetsuit rentals:

May 1st - September 30th: Boots.
Oct 1st - April 30th: Boots, Gloves and Hoods.

* Roof rack or straps are included in a board rental.

* A credit card, foreign passport or cash deposit is required to rent and renter must be over 19 yrs or have a legal guardian.

* All prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to tax.
